'I had the best time of my life, while I was living amongst the black African!'
Ismael Patelia is a poet. He grew up in Pretoria, among the black Africans.
Ismael
himself is a so called Coloured. The Coloured had more rights
during the Apartheid Era than the black Africans. In Pretoria they
stayed next to each other. In Cape Town, the Coloured and the black
African were seperated. The Coloured and the Indians were forced to move
out of the city centre of Cape Town. The black Africans must move
further away from the centre than the Coloured and Indians.
