Interview of today

Today we spoke to Essop Jassat, the brother of Abdulhay Jassad. Essop was a doctor during Apartheid and is still working as a doctor. He spoke about the difficulties which they went through at that time and that there simply no point in not fighting against Aprtheid. Because it effected the people in any aspects of their lifes. Wether it was education (school and university), work, place of living, moving inside the country as well as moving out of the country, spending time in a park (there was no park for Africans and Indians but one in Joburg which was a present from someone whos condition was that this place (Zoolake) is free for every 'race', there were different entrances at the post office/bank/any official building, different train compartments...

He also worked for ten years in the governement in the Ethnic Comission, Health Department. He spoke about corruption. He used to have lunch together with Winnie (the ex-wife on Nelson Mandela) and Zuma (current president of SA) because of their work while knowing that they were actually currupt.

Hope you're all well!

Peace, M&M =)
